Outspoken is organised by Steven & Tyyni Lang (Tyyni was formerly known as Chris Francis)

Steven Lang is the author of three novels, An Accidental Terrorist, (UQP 2005) which won Premier’s Literary Awards in both Queensland and New South Wales, 88 Lines About 44 Women, (Penguin, 2009) short-listed for both the Christina Stead Award for Fiction and the Queensland Premier's Award for Fiction 2010, and, most recently, Hinterland, (UQP 2017) . He also wrote, designed and illustrated the non-fiction book A Strong Brown God, describing a walk beside the Mary River from its source to the sea. Steven directed the first Maleny Festival of Books and Writing (1998) and ran the events program at Rosetta Books from 2001-2007. He was President of Maleny District Green Hills Fund for several years and is now the secretary of the Lake Baroon Catchment Care Group.

Tyyni Lang co-founded and ran Rosetta Books from 2001-2007 with Steven. She went on to purchase Maleny Bookshop with Fi Hunter. They sold the business in July 2020.
